TRAINING SESSIONS
PHASE ONE- CLEANING, FLUXING AND GENERAL MAINTENANCE
1. General cleaning practices and technique in a classroom setting.
2. Instructions on when, why and how to properly flux a furnace.
3. Detailed written instructions for care and maintenance of refractory linings.
4. On the job “hands on” training of how to clean off oxide and what to look for
in cutting down oxide growth.
5. Detailed instructions on general maintenance items like thermocouples, door
blades, ladles and loading instructions.
6. Supervisors sign off sheet for checking cleaning progress.
7. Metal quality and furnace cleaning.
8. Scrap rate reduction
9. WRITTEN REPORT ON THE PROBLEMS AND SUCCESSES OF THE TRAINING
Course time: About 3 hours. We will train twice in one day. It is recommended
that you bring one shift in early or have one stay later to receive the
training. Typically it is set up to do one in the morning and one in the
evening.
Who should attend: Supervisors, production managers, maintenance managers and
furnace tenders, cleaners, maintenance personnel who work on the general
maintenance items. Quality control personnel.
Cost: $2,400.00/day plus expenses (RB&T) Note: a day is considered 12 hours. If
our trainer must return to your plant to train after 8 A.M. the second day, an
additional day will be charged plus expenses.
PHASE TWO- COMPREHENSIVE ELECTRICAL AND COMBUSTION TROUBLESHOOTING TECHNIQUES
AND THE TRAINING IN PHASE ONE
1. Complete training in phase one session above (1-9 ).
2. Troubleshooting guidelines for starting, restarting and shut down of our
furnaces.
3. Training on how to set up and adjust your furnaces.
4. Training on what might cause a furnace to go out.
5. Step by step troubleshooting techniques to help you get up and running.
6. 24 Hr emergency hotline number for help.
7. WRITTEN REPORT ON THE PROBLEMS AND SUCCESSES OF THE TRAINING
Course time: About 3 hours. We will train twice a day. One of our trainers will
work with the furnace cleaners and tenders. One of our trainers will work with
the maintenance crew on combustion and electrical.
Who should attend: All maintenance personnel involved in combustion and controls
on your furnaces. The maintenance manager and supervisors if applicable. Furnace
tenders and cleaners. Production managers and quality control personnel.
Cost: $3,500/day plus expenses (R, B&T). Note: a day is considered 12 hours. If
our trainer must return to your plant to train after 8 P.M. an additional day
will be charged plus expenses.
